Less or No Upkeep/Management of Sports Fields

If this millage fails there will be fewer fields and access to fields for public use as well as an increase in blight and unmaintained properties.

An increase in the costs of programs and services will be required to keep up with the cost of living.

Melon Fest and Legend of Sleepy Howell removed from Downtown

Howell Rec hosts the Howell Melon Fest and Legon of Sleepy Howell bringing over 58,000 people to Howell. Without the proposed funding, there will be fewer resources to support these events, reducing the positive economic impact these events have on local businesses, stores, and restaurants.

Loss of Teen Center and Summer Camp Programs

A reduction in funding will result in little to no support for our growing families, limiting affordable programs for all income levels in our community.

Reduction in Hours of Operation

The reduction in funding will significantly cut hours of operation as well as reduce current and future employment opportunities.

No New Amenities

Current funding model only covers 36% of the necessary budget, leaving HAPRA to rely on grants and donations for upkeep and building of new amenities. Without the millage, there is no funding available to move forward with community plans.
